Launched back in May 20th 2011, LoSo is a social media app, which no Irish pub or bar owner should ignore.
Loso houses the best elements of Foursquare, Yelp and Open-Table. Effectively it is an all in one app, but what sets Loso apart from the competition is its exclusive focus on pubs, bars and restaurants.
Through the companies on-line dashboard, Irish pub owners can manage email marketing using a number of creatively designed templates or by creating your own, while also allowing you to post Facebook messages, Tweets and Texts.
The most interesting feature of the Dashboard is that it allows pub owners to run Loyalty QRewards, which allows you to make a rewards program. Thankfully the system has been cleverly implemented, so a customer needs to stay within a pub for longer than ten minutes to be rewarded points, which are then converted into awards, for example, ten points may off a free drink.
The Dashboard has a dedicated media manager system, which will allow you to upload photos and videos and have them posted on Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, YouTube and Loso. You can create events via Events marketing and, for example, advertise a band playing at your Irish Pub.
One of the most enticing aspects of Loso to Irish pub owners is that it will allow you to see if your users are located within a two mile radius and text them with special offers and discounts.
Inside the app itself, you have a basic user-friendly panel, which will be instantly familiar to anyone who has used Foursquare or similar apps, with five tabs that appear at the bottom of the screen including Places, What’s up, Events, Rewards and More.
Places: Much like Foursquare and Facebook Places, this allows users to “check-in” and let other friends know of their current location, invite friends or add as a favourite. You can also check to see who is there and see if any rewards are also available, such as offers for free drinks or similar promotions. Currently the app boasts an incredible 800,000 pub, bar and restaurant check-ins, each in ranking order.
What’s Up: This acts as a base for customer reviews. Customers can shoot photos or videos for this section, which are then placed on their Facebook wall, the pubs Facebook wall as well as Loso. This is a good way for your pub to gage customer reactions to your business. Another essential part to this app is that information is shown in real-time.
Events: This tab allows pub owners to create and advertise events happening in their pubs and keep a record of those events. Loso claims to have an average of 300,000 events listed each month.
Rewards: Loso encourages pub owners to offer rewards to loyal customers via the Loso Dashboard. This is a great way for your Irish pub to promote your latest happy hour or advertise any up and coming event.
More: This simply allows configure the app, with which Friends to add, Favourite places to add and general settings.
