Irish Embassy Haiti

At precisely 17:59pm last Thursday, the country of Haiti raised a glass not only to Arthur, but also to the opening of The Irish Embassy, the first Irish Pub within the country.The opening itself, located within the Irish Village, was a resounding success and aided further re-development of Port-au-Prince, after the 2010 earthquake, which devastated the entire region.The event began with a barbecue on Authur’s Day, with chef Karol Keane offering an assortment of delicious food. Guinness was served on tap, a first for the country as a whole and free soft drinks where also on offer. Entertainment came in the form of DJ Jack.The Irish Embassy is decked out with traditional wooden panelling and furniture and a number of Celtic and Haiti inspired murals covering various sections of the pub.
