Prizefight Irish Whiskey Launches in Dublin

Prizefight is a collaborative Irish whiskey, distilled and aged in Ireland, and finished in American rye casks from Tamworth Distilling. The result is incredibly complex whiskey: a smooth and mellow spirit that packs a punch but never burns. Pugilist Spirit’s Flor Prendergast wanted to create an Irish whiskey, so he called upon spirits maverick Steven Grasse, who came up with an idea for something new — a fine Irish whiskey finished in American rye casks. Making this idea a reality required collaboration between two craft distillers: one in Ireland, and the other in America. So, they reached out to West Cork Distilling to create the whiskey, and Grasse’s own distillery, Tamworth Distilling in New Hampshire to arrange the finishing. The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley 10 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey Launches

The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley is a 10 Year Old Single Malt, finished in 30 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Casks, hand-selected by Master Distiller, Darryl McNally. The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley joins The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil as the second expression in the range of Premium Irish Whiskies. The Limited Release whiskey is double barrelled, with 10 years in Bourbon casks and finished in 30 year old Oloroso Sherry casks for six months. There are only 31 Sherry casks of this unique whiskey which is non chill-filtered and bottled at 46%. 32 Irish Pubs Retain Listings In Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide 2017

Thirty-two Irish pubs spread across fifteen counties, north and south, have retained their listings in the 2017 Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide just published.   Of the thirty-two establishments listed, twenty-five are in the Republic of Ireland and seven are in Northern Ireland. In overall terms, County Down leads the way with six listings followed by Cork with five, Clare with four and Kildare with three. Dublin, Galway and Mayo each received two listings with Antrim, Kerry, Leitrim, Louth, Sligo, Tipperary, Wexford and Wicklow each having one listing. Antrim Billy Andy’s at Mounthill, near Larne.
