The best Irish Pubs are a premium hospitality experience

Here’s something that not many people know… The initial concept of Irish Pubs Global was formed from conversations at the Irish Economic Forum at Dublin Castle in 2010. Much of our young, talented workforce were forced to immigrate to locations all around the world to secure employment as the global recession bit hard here in Ireland. So much talent, culture and soul went with them and the country wanted to reach out to them, to keep them connected to their homeland and to encourage them to come home to visit or return to live once again. It was known that many of the Diaspora would spend time in their local Irish pub wherever they settled in the world but as independent businesses, the Irish pub sector was diverse, scattered and disconnected from one another and in many cases from Ireland. Survey shows more than half of Irish natives visit Irish pubs when travelling abroad

According to a survey conducted by Amárach Research, more than half (55%) of native Irish people visit Irish pubs when travelling abroad. The survey, conducted among 1,000 people, was commissioned by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (DIGI) to track sentiment towards Ireland’s drinks and hospitality sector. The survey also showed that nearly two thirds (63%) of people celebrate family occasions like birthday parties, communions and christenings in the local pub, restaurant or hotel. 47% of people associate their local pub with ‘socialising’, 48% with a ‘friendly atmosphere’ and almost one in five (19%) with tradition. Chapter One wins Best Restaurant at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2017

The Irish Restaurant Awards 2017 took place at the The Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, this month and named the top restaurants in Ireland for 2017. The black tie event, attended by over 900 restaurateurs and staff, was a celebration of the hard work and achievements within the industry over the last 12 months. Guests were treated to a lavish six course gala dinner prepared by a team of five chefs. The Awards Chef Team is hand-picked by the Restaurants Association each year and is made up of winning chefs from the previous year’s awards with each Chef representing a region of Ireland. Chapter One restaurant in Dublin was named as the 2017 All-Ireland Best Restaurant while Danni Barry of Deanes EPIC, Antrim took home the 2017 All-Ireland Best Chef title. Davy Macs launches new gin garden following Ireland’s Best Gin and Tonic Win

Davy Macs in Waterford have launched an exclusive Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Garden to mark their national win for best Gin and Tonic in Ireland.   The new garden, unveiled at an exclusive celebratory event, portrays Ireland’s favourite gin and the 12 individual botanicals from its recipe. It is a celebration of the collaboration between Davy Macs and Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, which is slow-distilled by hand with oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea. Davy Macs hit the headlines following last June’s national Gin and Tonic Fest when their Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin and tonic creation was voted the best in Ireland.  Guests at the unveiling celebrations included legendary Waterford hurler Ken McGrath and Waterford Rose Chloe McGrath.
