Jameson has launched its first ever cask strength whiskey

Jameson Irish whiskey has announced the launch of Jameson Bow Street 18 Years Cask Strength; the first cask strength Jameson whiskey to be available globally, which finishes its maturation in Dublin’s only live Maturation House in the Jameson Distillery Bow Street. A reinterpretation of Jameson 18 Years, this new expression celebrates Jameson’s Dublin heritage by returning part of the production process to the brand’s original home in Smithfield for the first time since 1975. Distilled and matured at the Midleton Distillery in Cork, Jameson Bow Street 18 Years Cask Strength is the new head of the Jameson family. After spending 18 years in a collection of bourbon and sherry casks, the blend of pot still and grain Irish whiskeys has been married together and re-casked in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels for a final six to 12 months in the [...]

New Irish pot still gin launched by Alltech

Alltech Beverage Division Ireland (ABDI) have officially launched Míl Gin, an Irish pot still gin, distilled with fragrant Mediterranean botanicals.  The new gin is already making waves on the international market with launches planned for the UK, mainland Europe, The US, Japan and China over the coming months. The development of Míl Gin began with a team of ‘ginthusiasts’ at the Pearse Lyons Distillery in Dublin’s Liberties. Inspired by the links between this historic site and the Camino de Santiago in North-West Spain, where tradition has it St. James is buried, they began exploring recipes for an Iberian-Irish fusion gin. This voyage of discovery led them to Míl, the mythical Spanish warrior who’s descendants are said to have populated Ireland, bringing with them the warm flavours of the sun. Míl Gin captures the essence of this expedition, suffusing pure Irish gin with the taste [...]
