Pearse Lyons Distillery celebrates limited release 5 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey

The Pearse Lyons Distillery in Dublin has released a new whiskey, the exclusive Pearse 5-Year-Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey. The single malt carries the first new five-year age statement to appear on an Irish whiskey in more than 25 years. The limited release was produced on two small-batch copper pot stills, and aged in bourbon casks. Presented in 4,000 individually numbered bottles, the product will be exclusively sold in SuperValu’s Premium Irish Whiskey section and select on-trade establishments around Ireland.  Commenting on the new whiskey, Gearoid Cahill, Head Distiller at the Pearse Lyons Distillery said, “The release of the Pearse Single Malt 5-Year-Old Irish Whiskey marks a historic milestone in the re-evolution of the Irish Whiskey distilling industry. Dead Rabbit NYC has reopened following fire

The Dead Rabbit bar in New York City reopened on Thursday 19th July, after being damaged in a fire on the morning of July 1st. Thankfully the fire was discovered quickly and nobody was injured in the incident.  According to the pub's Facebook page, the building received considerable fire and water damage. The fire destroyed the pub's kitchen and badly affected some of the back of house areas, with water and smoke damage elsewhere. Updating customers and fans on Facebook throughout their progress, they announced on 5th July that the team were working to reopen the pub on July 12th and true to their word they reopened last Thursday. Ireland’s Best Gin & Tonic for 2018 has been revealed

The Irish Gin & Tonic Fest 2018 ran across the 32 counties of Ireland with a total of 132 venues taking part and 16 gin events throughout the country. The 2018 event featured 26 Irish gins that hail from every province in Ireland and are made with a huge variety of both farmed and wild Irish ingredients. This year’s festival ran from June 23rd - June 30th and the public was invited to vote for their favorite #IrishGnT on Twitter and Instagram or by posting on the Great Irish Beverages Facebook page. The winner of Ireland’s best gin and tonic for 2018 is Russell’s Saloon & Gin Emporium in Dundalk, Co Louth.
