Peter Nash, Tourism Ireland “Our research still shows that visiting an Irish pub is one of the most appealing experiences for visitors to Ireland. The Irish Pubs Global Network gives us a real opportunity to use the 3,000 authentic Irish pubs overseas to showcase our culture, food and drink to attract additional visitors to the island of Ireland”.
“The 2015 Gathering is helping to support job creation in Ireland, through ever shrinking borders, building greater links between Irish pub owners worldwide with publicans in Ireland, and by so doing is helping Ireland’s hospitality sector to achieve desirable growth into the future”, said Founder and President of Irish Pubs Global Federation, Enda O’Coineen.

The Irish Pubs Global Gathering 2015 took place on Friday 27th & 28th February in the Convention Centre Dublin providing an opportunity for overseas investors to network with business owners who represent Ireland’s hospitality industry.

The Irish Pubs Global Federation is currently providing an important platform for SMEs and suppliers based in Ireland’s hospitality sector. The network, with 6,500 members, is providing a global platform for Irish suppliers to connect with Irish Pubs around the world, presenting them with an opportunity to globally export their services, food and drink.

Speaking at The Gathering, Founder and President of Irish Pubs Global Federation, Enda O’Coineen, said: “The Irish pub has proven incredibly robust in helping Irish communities abroad, whether learning Irish news, listening to Irish music/culture, or looking for employment. While the industry is well organised in Ireland, this is not the case globally and there is a massive void in this aspect of linking-up Irish pubs based outside of Ireland. I believed there was an immediate need for those involved in promoting Ireland abroad and global Irish brand owners to come together, to connect and support Irish hospitality around the world.”

Peter Nash, Tourism Ireland addressed delegates at the Gathering saying: “Icons are a powerful way of attracting visitors to a destination, and most destinations consider themselves lucky to have a few motivating icons. Ireland is very fortunate in having seven thousand powerful icons in the shape of our Irish Pub. Our research still shows that visiting an Irish pub is one of the most appealing experiences for visitors to Ireland. The Irish Global Pub Network gives us a real opportunity to use the 3,000 authentic Irish pubs overseas to showcase our culture, food and drink to attract additional visitors to the island of Ireland”.

With their slogan ‘Together is Better’ Irish Pubs Global mission is to create, connect and support a global community of Irish Pub owners, managers and suppliers that will help to ensure their continued success and that will benefit job creation in Ireland, through the important sectors of hospitality and tourism.
