9 White Deer Brewery in Ballyvourney, Co Cork have developed a stout which breaks new ground in brewing technology. Stag Stout which was launched last week in Cronins Pub Crosshaven is a stout that tastes like yesteryear but happens to be gluten free. The ingredients used are very traditional with local barley, malted barley and oats, all the gluten has been denatured and removed but you wouldn’t know, it pours with a thick creamy long lasting head and tastes as smooth as silk. If you’re lucky enough to have experienced what stouts were like in Ireland twenty or thirty years ago Stag Stout will bring those memories flooding back.
9 White Deer were the first in Ireland to develop gluten free beer a few years ago and just earlier this year were the first in Europe to offer a substantial range of gluten free beers launching the “Stag Saor” range of 5 bottled beers.
Stag Stout is currently pouring around Cork, Kerry and Dublin and is available countrywide.
