On Wednesday 21st January, the Irish Ambassador to Spain, David Cooney, held an event at the Irish Embassy Residence in Madrid, which was attended by Irish Pub owners and managers of Spain, along with Irish Pubs Global CEO John Byrne, and Irish Pubs Global President Enda O’Coineen. Also in attendance were patrons; Tourism Ireland, Bord Bia and Enterprise Ireland.
The goal of this meeting was to form the Irish Pubs Global Federation Spain, for Irish pubs in Spain to connect directly with the Irish hospitality industry worldwide, through the Irish Pubs Global Federation network.
Great progress was achieved with plans going forward, and a new chapter formed. Neil McArdle has taken on the position of Honorary President for Spain, and will be supported by Peter Finnegan as President of the Valentia & Region Chapter, and Matthew Loughney as President of Madrid & Region. Congratulations to all involved with our new Spain Chapter.
Irish Pubs Global Federation thanks Ambassador David Cooney, Geraldine Cooney, the Embassy team, our Country Director for Spain Mairead Huurman, our patrons and all who attended this historic meeting.
