McGettigan’s Irish bars are hosting their second annual Paddy’s Day festival on Friday March 16th in Dubai, with Kodaline booked to be the headline act. Made up of Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergrast, Jason Boland and Vincent May, Kodaline are one of Ireland’s biggest bands and one of the hottest emerging talents internationally.
Speaking about the announcement, Dennis McGettigan, CEO of McGettigan’s Irish bars said “Kodaline are one of Ireland’s biggest bands right now and they are already impressing international markets. Their collaboration with Kygo has over 47 million hits on YouTube and their gig at Marlay Park in Dublin in 2016 was a sold-out show with over 40,000 fans in attendance. We are delighted to be bringing the band to Dubai for their debut. We know it will be a fantastic show Irish expats and fans won’t want to miss!”
Also playing at the festival are The Coronas and Little Hours, as well as U2 tribute act The Joshua Tree and more.
The Coronas are no stranger to McGettigan’s, having performed at last year’s Paddy’s Party too. The much-loved band are so popular that they are returning to play at the festival again this year.
The celebration aims to showcase all that is great about Ireland both domestically and internationally, creating a carnival atmosphere in the heart of Dubai.
“This is the biggest celebration of the Irish holiday in the Middle East and it is hosted by the most authentic Irish bar in Dubai – McGettigan’s. It’s an event for music lovers, food lovers and those who seek new cultural experiences – it really is an international event for all,” explains Dennis McGettigan.
Run by the McGettigan family, who hail from both Co Donegal and Co Dublin, the McGettigan group now have eight Irish bars across the UAE, which are home to many of the Emerald Isle’s expats and has a strong presence in the Irish community.
