Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver Tequila Launches Best Margarita Competition

Jose Cuervo is challenging bartenders all over Ireland to create an innovative Cuervo Tradicional Silver margarita with a twist, and submit their entry on www.cuervomargarita.ie. and win a trip to Tequila to experience the traditional process from the agave fields to the distillation and maturation process. They will step back in time and walk down into the private family cellar, the only place in the world where Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia is finished and will savour a dram straight from the barrel! Irish Hospitality Global has confirmed the appointment of Food for Thought - FFT.ie as its official trade media partner, giving Irish hospitality operators across the world access to the most relevant and up to date news and views from all sectors. Food for Thought - FFT.ie is the Irish Hospitality Global Digest and is powered by a daily updated website, backed by a monthly magazine with a domestic Irish audience of nearly 50,000 readers every month.  An international edition of the magazine, aimed at members of Irish Hospitality Global as well as partners and industry stakeholders, is in development and is anticipated for release by the end of Q1 2019.  The website will increasingly incorporate international news from North America, Canada, the UK and continental Europe as the year progresses. Powers Irish Whiskey unveils new Powers Quarter in Dublin

Powers Irish Whiskey has unveiled the Powers Quarter; a collaboration between six Dublin bars that each tell a different chapter of Powers’ Bold Character and its illustrious Dublin whiskey history since 1791. The six Dublin bars included lie within walking distance of the old John’s Lane distillery and original Powers bottling hall on Drury Street. The new initiative aims to celebrate the historic Powers neighbourhood by bringing to life the bars’ historic links to the brand through Powers-educated bartenders, point-of-sale and signature serves inspired by the Powers story. The new Powers Quarter covers Thomas House, Market Bar, The Oak, The Swan, Idlewild and John Fallon’s The Capstan Bar. A look back at our most successful year yet

A look back at 2018, our most successful year to date, with a marked increase in membership and engagement with Irish pubs and hospitality outlets around the world, as well as our recent rebrand and four successful events held in Auckland, London, Galway and Virginia. Delegates of Irish pubs from all over New Zealand attended the event, which saw Reg Henessey, of Hennessy's Irish Bar Rotorua, elected as the founding Chairman of the Irish Pubs Global New Zealand Chapter, and Brian Collins, of Pog Mahone's in Queenstown, elected as President.  [...]

Christmas Cocktails

We recently went along to the Christmas Cocktail Party in Dublin to boost our cocktail skills, hosted by Oisin Davis of Great Irish Beverages. The event was held at the Dublin Bar Academy and featured tastings of four festive cocktails made with Irish brands, followed by a demo on how to make each one. Check out the recipes below: HOT BUTTERED JAMESON Ingredients: (serves 1) 35 ml of Jameson 1 heaped teaspoon of spiced butter mix (recipe below) 120 ml of boiling water  Method: Heat a mug or hot whiskey glass with hot water, then discard the water. Pour 35 ml of Jameson into the mug or glass. Drop a heaped teaspoon of spiced butter mix into glass and stir while topping up with 120 ml of hot water. Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair returns to Dublin in March

The Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair will return to the Convention Centre Dublin from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th of March 2019 and tickets are on sale now. Showcasing the finest purveyors of craft beers, ciders, whiskeys and gins, there will be tipples to suit all palates. This year, the fair coincides with St. Patrick’s weekend, with live music and entertainment, delicious food offerings, and the Six Nations Rugby, which will be shown live on three of the largest screens in Dublin. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample over 300 craft brews during the three day event. Opening hours: Thursday, 14th March: 5pm – 11pm Friday, 15th March: 5pm – 11pm Saturday, 16th March: 12.30pm – 11pm The complete line-up of music and exhibitors at the fair will be announced in the New Year. Festive favourites with a Clonakilty Twist

Looking for some festive menu inspiration? Try these traditional favourites with a Clonakilty twist. Clonakilty sausage and pudding rolls These homemade Clonakilty Sausage rolls are a divine combination of Clonakilty Blackpudding, Whitepudding and Ispíní Sausages all wrapped in a light puff pastry. These juicy treats are not only delicious, but they are also incredibly handy. Although they taste best when freshly baked, they can be frozen and defrosted making your life a lot easier when preparing for events in advance.  (Recipe makes 6) Ingredients: 200g ready-made Jus-Rol puff pastry 50g Clonakilty Blackpudding 50g Clonakilty Whitepudding 4 Clonakilty Ispíní Sausages Pinch of dried thyme Tsp sesame seeds Egg white for brushing Method: Remove the skin from the sausages and place in a bowl. Jameson Distillery Bow St. has been named World’s Leading Distillery Tour

Irish Distillers has announced that Jameson Distillery Bow St. has been named the World’s Leading Distillery Tour at the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony in Lisbon on December 1st. The finalists included Macallan, Hennessy, Jack Daniels and Jose Cuervo. This win follows the announcement of Jameson Distillery Bow Street as 'Europe's Leading Distillery Tour 2018' at the European Travel Awards in July.  Commenting on the win, Greg Hughes, Managing Director Jameson Brand Homes and Education at Irish Distillers said “We are extremely humbled and honoured to be awarded this very special accolade. End of an era for Lillie’s Bordello

The end of an era is approaching as Dublin’s most glamorous nightclub, Lillie’s Bordello, is set to close in January. Since opening its doors in the early 90s, Lillie’s established itself as the late-night playground of celebrities from here and across the pond. Over the years, the dance floor has been graced by stars such as Rihanna, Julia Roberts, David Hasselhoff, Mick Jagger and Enrique Iglesias, along with home-grown celebrities like Niall Horan, The Cranberries, Laura Whitmore and Cillian Murphy, with Bono even celebrating his 46th birthday at Lillie’s. 30 Publicans Gather for US Irish Hospitality Workshop

The picturesque colonial town of Alexandria VA was the setting for an historical first meeting and workshop for Irish Pub Operators from across North America. The theme and concept of the workshop was developed by Donal Ballance of Ballance Hospitality, was supported by Irish Hospitality Global and endorsed by a number of Irish State Agencies (i.e. Tourism Ireland, Bord Bia and Dept of Foreign Affairs). 30 of the very best operators from across the United States and Canada met to discuss the current state of the Irish Pub industry in North America, how operators might work more closely together and how operators could strengthen their ties to Ireland and an authentic Irish experience.
