With the 60+ attendees present, and a few post-SuperBowl casualties, the second annual Irish Pub Workshop in DC was a success.
We were pleased with the opportunity to work in conjunction with Brendan Barry from Irish Business Solutions to deliver the event.
Building on the maiden event held at the Phoenix Park Hotel, in downtown, Washington DC, the workshop focused on several areas, notably: rising food cost, revising the layout of the pub and the experience for patrons.

First Secretary for Food and Agriculture, Dr. John Dardis, from the Irish Embassy was the keynote speaker; presenting on the Origin Green concept for Irish food and stating that a gathering of this type for Irish Pub Owners/Operators was “Long Overdue”.

Other notable speakers included John Heverin from Ól Irish Design & Build presented on the future trends of Irish Pub design. With approximately 4 Irish pubs opening per month around the world, there is a real value to be placed on being ahead of the curve.

Technology as a means to gauge online traffic for your social media and dispense control.

The legendary Ballymaloe Country Relish was present at the event with Seán Hyde providing both samples and sourcing information on how to get Ballymaloe Country Relish into your pub – the best relish there is for your burger!

Concluding the event, there was much discourse on both the value of a forum for pub owners to communicate and share ideas and also an emphasis on the value of meeting at events such as the Irish pub workshop.
Our focus now, is to continue developing our reach and frequency to pub owners all over the world and to deliver an incredible event in Dublin this September 29th- October 2nd.
